FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A heartbreaking homecoming unfolded Monday afternoon as the remains of a fallen Fort Bragg soldier returned to Fayetteville.
Staff Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton’s remains arrived at Fayetteville Regional Airport from Dover Air Force Base on a charter jet.
His wife, Mia Gonzalez-Swinton, was seen leaning over her husband’s flag-draped casket, sobbing, as family members gathered around to say goodbye.
