Three Nassau County school districts have formally asked the New York State Public Service Commission to dismiss or deny the Propel NY Energy transmission project, arguing the agency cannot legally approve the proposal because the record lacks critical information about its impact on schools and surrounding communities.
The motion, filed July 29 by the North Shore, Roslyn and Syosset school districts, asks the commission to reject the application for the approximately 90-mile underground transmission line, which would run through Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, the Bronx and Westchester counties.
