Man arrested after crash into police car, shooting at Austin motel: affidavit

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police arrested a 19-year-old man on July 30, accusing him of shooting two people at a south Austin motel late on July 29.

Elijah Jorge Zuniga, 19, faces two first-degree felony charges of aggravated assault/reckless discharge, one second-degree felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one third-degree felony count of evading arrest with a vehicle. Court records also note he faces an “out of county” felony and a misdemeanor.

Zungia does not have an attorney assigned to his defense as of Monday afternoon. KXAN will reach out for a statement on his behalf and update this story if that information becomes available.
