LSU announces research merger approved by accreditor

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — LSU announced the approval of a research merger involving two university health sciences centers.

In June, the Board of Trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) approved merging LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans and LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport as branch campuses of LSU. The merger went into effect on Aug. 1.
