BERNALILLO — As the start of the new school year looms closer, Bernalillo High School seniors were spotted in the school’s parking lot July 30 painting their respective parking spots.
“I definitely think that it sets a precedent at the beginning of the school year. It gives those students ownership of their campus, and I am really hoping for it to be a trajectory of what the year has in store for them,” Bernalillo Activities Director Jennifer Jaramillo said.
It’s a tradition that hasn’t happened in Spartan Country since 2023, and many seniors didn’t want to miss out. As the sun began setting, seniors began trotting in along with families, friends and coolers filled with cold beverages…
