Get ready to dust off your lederhosen, practice your best “Prost!” and prepare for one of Evansville’s favorite summertime traditions. The 64th Annual Volksfest is back August 13-15 at Germania Männerchor.
A Tradition That Spans More Than Six Decades
For more than six decades, Volksfest has been bringing generations together to celebrate German heritage with delicious food, lively music, and an atmosphere that’s hard to beat.
Ten Authentic German Beers on Tap
Beer lovers will definitely want to stop by because Volksfest is serving up a record-setting selection of TEN authentic German beers. If beer isn’t your thing, don’t worry. Domestic favorites and refreshing wine slushies will also be available throughout the festival.
Come Hungry for German Favorites
Of course, no German festival would be complete without amazing food. Beginning each day at 11 a.m., visitors can enjoy traditional favorites including bratwurst, hearty pig knuckles, homemade German potato salad and Germania’s famous Kraut Balls.
Opening Ceremonies Kick Off the Celebration
The festivities officially kick off Thursday evening with opening ceremonies and the traditional tapping of the first keg at 6 p.m. under the biergarten tent. Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry will once again have the honor of tapping that first keg, officially launching another memorable Volksfest celebration.
There are plenty of activities beyond the food and music, too, including the Media Brat Toss on Thursday evening and the Wurst Race 5K at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. This year’s Volksfest also features a half pot – those tickets are already on sale online.

Families will also appreciate expanded kid-friendly hours this year. Guests under 21 can stay until 8 p.m. on Thursday and until 6 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, making it even easier for everyone to enjoy the festival together. Better yet, admission is free for all ages until 3 p.m. each day…
