Man arrested for allegedly sending mail laced with meth to inmate

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two men were arrested Tuesday, one of whom was already incarcerated, for attempting to send and receive mail allegedly laced with methamphetamine and smuggle it into Sheriff’s jail facilities, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office (SDSO) confirmed.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Mail Processing Unit in July reportedly discovered inbound mail laced with methamphetamine from an unknown sender that was addressed to an incarcerated person. Detectives seized the contraband and began the investigation.
