KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation has adjusted how it will be closing part of James White Parkway while crews repair a bridge this weekend.
Initially, TDOT had anticipated fully closing the southbound lanes of James White Parkway from the evening of August 7 through the morning of August 10. Now, instead of the parkway being fully closed to southbound traffic, TDOT said it will be using single-lane closures nightly between 10 p.m. on Friday August 7 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, and between 7 p.m. on August 8 and 6 a.m. on Sunday, August 9.

Drivers can bypass the work zone with Alcoa Highway or Hall of Fame Drive.
Although the August 7-10 closure was postponed, the southbound lanes are scheduled to be closed on August 14-17. During the repairs, these ramps are planned to be closed: Baxter Avenue to I-275 South, I-275 South to I-40 East, Henley Street to I-40 East, I-40 East to James White Parkway south (Exit 388A) and I-40 West to James White Parkway south (Exit 388A)…
