ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Testimony continued in the federal trial against a longtime state representative and Albuquerque Public Schools administrator facing dozens of criminal charges, accused of stealing millions from taxpayers.

While most of the day was spent combing through invoices and email exchanges, one of Stapleton’s former colleagues admitted she was nervous to be testifying before abruptly saying, “This whole thing ruined my life; she ruined my reputation.” And while those words, from APS administrator Abigail Manzanares, were stricken from the record, the feeling of shock hung over the room.
