A Liberty County inmate who escaped custody while at a Kingwood hospital was captured Wednesday near Seattle, more than two weeks after fleeing on foot.
On July 18, Yorlan Rafael Reyes, 31, fled HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood’s emergency room after authorities took him there for a medical emergency. Reyes was booked into the Liberty County Jail on July 17 on a warrant alleging unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material.
Authorities said Reyes traveled through Cleveland, Texas and the Houston area before reaching Washington, where investigators traced a cellphone number linked to him. His escape prompted Liberty County to fire the correctional officer supervising him, and officials said Reyes may face new charges involving threatening messages allegedly sent while he was at large…
