FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A group of community leaders has created a Medicaid Awareness Task Force to keep neighbors informed amid statewide changes to Medicaid.
In October, approximately 30,000 low-income residents under the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) will be required to track at least 80 hours of work, volunteerism, or educational training each month to meet the new eligibility requirements as outlined in the new rules.
Technically, the new rules take effect January 1, 2026, but residents with HIP may not be aware that they need a 90-day history of successfully meeting these requirements before January to attain or keep their Medicaid benefits…
