BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) – Bossier Parish Schools will transport more than 12,000 students across 218 routes this school year using a fleet of 285 buses, but the district is still working to fill gaps in its substitute driver pool.
Shortage affects substitute drivers, not full-time staff
Aaron Megee, director of transportation for Bossier Schools, said every bus currently has a full-time driver assigned.
“As of today, we have a full-time driver on every bus,” Megee said. “We have some subs that are in the mix, but we don’t have very many of them.”
The district is still accepting bus driver applications in an effort to grow its substitute driver roster.
