15-year-old doing wheelies in oncoming traffic on Glenwood Street cited

GARDEN CITY, Idaho (CBS2) — A recent incident on Glenwood Street is prompting a safety reminder from the Garden City Police Department as agencies across the Treasure Valley report a sharp rise in electric motorbikes being ridden on public roads, sometimes in dangerous and reckless ways.

Police said electric bikes and motorbikes with motors exceeding 750 watts are classified as motor vehicles under Idaho law. That means they are subject to licensing, registration and other requirements, similar to motorcycles.

In the Glenwood Street incident, police said a 15-year-old rider was seen doing wheelies while traveling into oncoming traffic. No one was injured, and police said a serious crash was avoided…
