Charlottesville neighborhood says nearby construction is damaging property

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Homeowners in the Monte Vista neighborhood say construction by developer Stanley Martin is damaging their properties, and that city officials have told them any resulting damage is a civil matter.

“When we had these big storms this weekend, my neighbors and I were concerned about the runoff from this construction project, given the fact that there are critical slopes,” said Jesse Harper, a Monte Vista homeowner.

Harper said his neighbors reported silt deposits between six and 14 inches built up on waterways on their properties following recent storms, linked to runoff from the Azalea Springs development…
