ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KGPE) – A major settlement was announced on Thursday in the death of an 8-year-old girl found in a Merced home back in 2022.
Alameda County agreed to pay the family of Sophia Mason $12 million. They will also dedicate a memorial bench in honor of the 8-year-old at San Felipe Community Park. In 2022, 8-year-old Sophia Mason was found dead in a bathtub a month after her death.
