NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (First Alert 4) – A roadway notorious for flooding any time it rains is raising questions, after three men had to be rescued after driving into floodwaters.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on Aubochon Road in Hazelwood. Firefighters with the Robertson Fire Protection District said the men drove into the floodwaters and then got stuck.
That has caused some concern because there are gates on Aubochon Road that are supposed to block drivers when the roadway gets flooded. However, as First Alert 4 learned when we went out to the roadway on Thursday, those gates are broken – and have been for a while…
