Virginia’s annual sales tax holiday runs from 12:01 a.m. Aug. 7 through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 9, giving shoppers a chance to purchase qualifying items without paying state and local sales tax.
While many residents associate the tax holiday with back-to-school shopping, the three-day event also covers a wide range of hurricane and emergency preparedness supplies, making it an opportunity for Fairfax County residents to update emergency kits and storm readiness equipment before severe weather strikes.
The sales tax exemption applies automatically at participating retailers, both in stores and online. No coupon or special form is required…
