Actress Minnie Driver has opened up about a serious car accident she recently experienced in France, revealing that she suffered a sprained neck and remains emotionally shaken by the incident.

In a heartfelt Instagram video posted Thursday from London, where she is currently recovering, the 56-year-old star shared details of the crash. Wearing a neck brace and lying on her side, Driver apologized for using a filter on the video, explaining she didn’t want to show how rough she looked after the ordeal.

“I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben, and we somehow walked out of it. Well, we didn’t walk out of it. We crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive,” she recounted.

Driver clarified that neither she nor her friend were at fault. They were driving on a country road in France when another vehicle failed to stop at an intersection and struck their car at speed. “We just T-boned it,” she said.

Though physically okay apart from a sprained neck, Driver admitted she is still coping with the emotional impact. “I’m really in shock and sort of cry all the time,” she shared.

Having never been in an accident before, the “Good Will Hunting” actress expressed amazement that they survived without more serious injuries. She praised the safety of their Kia vehicle and expressed gratitude for the support of friends, family, and a good Samaritan who stopped to help before emergency services arrived.

Driver also acknowledged the mixed emotions surrounding the incident, calling attention to another driver who slowed down to observe the scene but then left without stopping.

Concluding her message, she thanked everyone for their support and affection, including her friend Ben and his family. Fans responded with messages of relief and wishes for a swift recovery.

Displaying her characteristic wit despite the circumstances, Driver joked on her Instagram story: “Even though I wasn’t driving, I’m still changing my name to Kia Driver.”
