HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says drivers traveling the U.S. 41A project in Hopkins County should anticipate a major traffic shift.
Officials say on August 7, crews will start transitioning vehicles from the existing U.S. 41A route and the temporary diversion that was created during the project onto the newly constructed roadway. The KYTC says traffic will still be restricted to one lane in each direction as work moves forward on the project, with the completion slated for later this year.
Reconfiguration of 2nd Street in Henderson planned
According to officials, this project is designed to extend previous improvements along the U.S. 41A corridor from the end of the existing five-lane section near Yorkwood Place to Industrial Drive, just west of GE, a distance of about 3.3 miles.
