Indianapolis man accused of stealing $1.6 million from Bedford School District arrested

A man who has been accused of posing as a contractor and stealing $1.6 million from the Bedford School District has been taken into custody, according to state police.

Investigators say the alleged theft was discovered after the Altoona-based company that was hired to conduct renovations at the high school claimed that they had not yet been paid.
