Fall River officer gets pretrial probation in 2024 assault case

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Fall River K-9 officer Marc Correia, who’s been suspended with pay from the Fall River Police Department since he was arrested on domestic violence-related charges in 2024, has reached a deal that will allow him to avoid a plea.

The 34-year-old was placed on leave after he was charged with assault and battery on a family member, improper storage of a firearm near a minor and intimidating a witness.
