(WJAR) — With cases continuing to rise in a Cyclospora outbreak linked to lettuce, Rhode Island farmers are seeing more demand for their locally-grown produce in markets and farmstands throughout the state.
States report the outbreak has sickened more than 25,000 people nationwide, with two deaths reported. The CDC has confirmed more than 10,000 cases in lab testing.
“With any food, it’s definitely always better to get it local, you can know exactly where it comes from, you can shake the hand of the person that grows it for you,” said Matthew Thibodeau, owner of Luckyfoot Ranch in North Kingstown…
