AUSTIN (KXAN) — Rick Hoff said most people in his south Austin neighborhood, which is nestled off South 1st Street, have lived there for decades; and a lot of folks, he said, are senior citizens.
Hoff said he could talk about his friends here for hours. But he called KXAN to talk about something else.
“We’ve been having some trouble quite a bit on this whole street,” he said.
The trouble: A series of thefts and burglaries
“My neighbor, they got her electric lawnmower. She just got it. Used it one time. They also got into my motorcycle. Trouble starts now. Now it’s getting serious,” Hoff said.
The Austin Police Department confirmed it received a report about the lawnmower, and that the case is suspended “due to a lack of leads, suspects, evidence, surveillance footage, or the serial number of any stolen property.”…
