RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – According to the Reno Police Department’s Regional Gang Unit 36 illegal firearms and multiple pounds of illegal narcotics were seized, and more than 136 gang-related arrests were made over the past six months.
Officers say that each firearm removed from a prohibited person is one less opportunity for violence in the community.
“Let’s think about that for a second,” Reno Police Chief Corey Solferino said. “36 people in possession of a firearm that were prohibited people. Those are 36 crimes that they didn’t get the opportunity to go victimize people in our community, potentially hurt, murder. That’s a significant number, ladies and gentlemen.”…
