Elderly bicyclist dies from injuries over a year after being hit by a car in Nanakuli

NANAKULI, Hawaii (Island News) — A 75-year-old man died from his injuries after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Nanakuli last February.

The collision happened at about 7:21 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2025 in the area of Hakimo Road in Nanakuli where a 75-year-old bicyclist was struck by a car, according to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD). The bicyclist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway when he was hit by a 64-year-old man after he traveled in the path of the driver.

The impact threw the bicyclist onto the road and he was taken to an emergency room by Honolulu Emergency Medical Services in serious condition. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision…
