BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — An international action-sports festival is underway in Birmingham, giving the city its first look at what it is getting in return for an investment of up to $1.5 million to bring the event to Alabama.
The FISE World Series began Friday at City Walk BHAM, bringing BMX riders, skateboarders, basketball players and spectators to downtown Birmingham for three days of competition, music and other events.
