Southcoast Hospitals Named 2026-2027 Best Regional Hospital with High Performing Ratings Across 8 Procedures, Conditions

FALL RIVER, NEW BEDFORD and WAREHAM, Mass. – The U.S. News & World Report announced this week that Southcoast Hospitals Group – including Charlton Memorial, St. Luke’s and Tobey hospitals – earned the Best Regional Hospitals designation, ranking #12 on its list of Best Hospitals in Massachusetts, and #2 in the Providence Metro Area for 2026-2027.

This year, only 505 hospitals earned a spot on the list, and Southcoast Hospitals Group earned the High Performing distinction for providing exceptional care and treatment in the eight procedures and conditions below:

  • Colon cancer surgery
  • Heart arrythmia
  • Heart failure
  • Hip replacement
  • Knee replacement
  • Maternity care (uncomplicated pregnancy)
  • Pacemaker implantation
  • Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
