Springfield, MO – A round of severe thunderstorms producing large hail and damaging winds moved through the Ozarks Friday, leaving thousands of customers without power and causing significant damage in parts of the region.
The hardest-hit area appears to be Halltown, where the Halltown Volunteer Fire Protection District reported extensive damage.
At least one mobile home had its roof completely removed, while at least five barns were destroyed. Fire officials also reported approximately 100 trees down across the area.
