A Saturday afternoon fire in a Garden City jewelry store basement forced the closure of 10 stores.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office says the Garden City Fire Department responded to a call for an outlet smoking in the basement of a three-story building at 815 Franklin Ave. around 1 p.m.
