EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Evansville Animal Care and Control will remain closed to the public for a second week as staff members continue to treat and monitor shelter dogs following multiple unexplained deaths.
While a specific cause of the illnesses remains unconfirmed, shelter officials shared an encouraging update on Saturday, saying that the dogs in their care are beginning to show signs of improvement.
“Our team has been working tirelessly around the clock to give every animal the best care possible,” shelter officials said in a statement. “At this time, our testing has not confirmed a specific cause, but we continue to work closely with our veterinary partners and are sending out additional tests.”…
