County looking to move forward with $5 million storm water drainage project in Kirkwood area

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A resolution has gone before the Montgomery County Commission during the month of August to authorize work and execution of a storm water drainage project in the Kirkwood area.

According to the resolution and previous reports, the Montgomery County Commission established a budget for the payment and expenditure of all funds to design and complete a storm water project in the Kirkwood area, and the project has been fully funded in the amount of $5.39 million for FY 2026-27.

Originally, following the flood damage in Farmington in 2025, the County Commission started an emergency fund of $500,000 to help address the damage in the community. Now, $5 million is being invested in storm water infrastructure to continue to address the issues…
