MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Montgomery mother who lost her daughter to violence is turning her front lawn into a physical memorial, placing more than 110 wooden crosses to honor local victims of homicide.
Patricia June, whose daughter was killed in 2022, launched the project to ensure that the victims of the city’s ongoing violence are never forgotten. The crosses on display represent individuals killed in Montgomery between 2022 and 2026.
“I promise that the names of your loved ones will not be reduced to statistics or forgotten headlines,” June said. “This crisis of violence is not a statistic; it is a tearing of our communities, and it’s tearing us apart.”…
