Sandoval County voters could be asked to approve nearly $34.4 million in new library, fire and elections-facility debt this November, while county commissioners separately take up almost $12 million in landfill and land-purchase bonds that don’t require a public vote — all on Wednesday’s agenda.
The Sandoval County Board of County Commissioners meets Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Administrative Building Commission Chambers, 1500 Idalia Road, Building D, in Bernalillo. The meeting streams at sandovalcountynm.gov, and residents can weigh in online or in person.
Commissioners will consider resolutions setting the English and Spanish ballot language for three general obligation bonds headed to the Nov. 3 general election, according to the meeting agenda:
- A $3.4 million library bond to plan, build, remodel and stock library facilities countywide.
- A $9 million fire facilities bond to build a Sandoval County Fire Department training facility and additional stations.
- A $22 million bond for a new Bureau of Elections building to securely store voting machines and house polling and office space.
