A Hopkinsville man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he fled from officers responding to a reported burglary in progress Monday evening.
According to a Hopkinsville Police Department citation, officers were sent to the 400 block of Sivley Road around 7:16 pm after a caller reported two men attempting to force entry into an apartment. When officers arrived, they found two people matching the descriptions provided by the caller.
Police say one of the men, identified as Deontray Boler, immediately ran from officers despite repeated commands to stop. During the chase, officers reported seeing Boler repeatedly reach toward his waistband in a manner they believed was consistent with someone attempting to secure or retrieve a firearm.
