Horry County Schools sees ‘high volume’ vaping issue, creates vape task force

CONWAY, S.C. — Multiple Horry County Schools leaders spoke about a new district vape task force at a board work session on Monday night, Aug. 10.

The Horry County Board of Education heard remarks from HCS Chief Officer of Student Services Velna Allen and Superintendent Clifford Jones about a problem the district says is in major focus.

Board members were told that HCS “continues to see a high volume of students using vapes that contain THC”…
