Jordan, N.Y. – A large artillery shell from World War II that sat in a Jordan home for more than 80 years was uncovered last week.
The shell was found this past Tuesday in the home that for years was the medical office of a prominent doctor who served in World War II.
The high-explosive artillery shell, along with an intact shipping cap, was found by Todd Platten, whose parents owned the home at 16 N. Main St. in the village of Jordan before they passed away, Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, said…
