Friends and family gather to remember man killed over the weekend in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Friends and family gathered on Monday night to remember 34-year-old Dante Conley, who was stabbed to death over the weekend. According to the Albuquerque Police Department, 43-year-old Collin Terrazas went to Conley’s home near Lomas and San Pedro, where he stabbed and may have shot the victim. Police said Terrazas tried to start a fire before leaving the home in Conley’s vehicle.

Detectives learned Terrazas went to a smoke shop and told employees he killed someone, took money, a car, and set the home on fire. An employee told police Terrazas’ hands were covered in blood, and he referred to himself as “Michael the archangel.”

Monday night, family and friends held a vigil for Conley at The Mothership Alumni gallery on 4th Street. “He was an impactful person in my life. He brought community and creativity and art. He pushed people to see potential that they didn’t have,” said Ryan Gomez, friend of Conley.

Terrazas is charged with murder. He is expected to make his first appearance on Tuesday…
