PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A fast-moving fire on Highway 34 was stopped by crews in Lebanon on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The Lebanon Fire District said at about 4:15 p.m., a medic vehicle was driving back toward Lebanon from another call when a crew member noticed a “small fire burning along Highway 34 near Steckley Road.”
“The crew stopped and requested an engine from Lebanon Fire District. They attempted to stop the fire with the ambulance’s fire extinguisher, but the fire had already grown too large. At that point, the fire was approximately 30 feet by 30 feet and spreading rapidly,” the Lebanon Fire District said in a press release.
