For the first time in 10 years, Gainesville High School will have a new head softball coach.
On July 27, Chris Chronister announced he was retiring from high school coaching.
“It was a hard decision but something that I have been contemplating for several years,” he said. “The biggest thing was wanting to free up more time to spend with family and friends. I have always enjoyed coaching, and it has been very rewarding, but it is also time-consuming and there are times you miss out on other life events. Katie (daughter) is getting married this September, so this just seemed like the right time to step aside.”…
