KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A fourth-generation Michigan mechanical contracting company will expand two Southwest Michigan facilities, investing $9.5 million and creating 70 new jobs with help from a state grant.
R.W. LaPine, Inc. plans to add 42,000 square feet to its headquarters in Comstock Township and 10,000 square feet to its St. Joseph facility. The expansion will nearly triple the company’s capacity for large piping fabrication and position it to compete in new markets including power and energy, data centers, healthcare, food and beverage and life sciences.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation approved a $345,000 grant to support the project, announced by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The expansion is part of three small business announcements totaling more than $42.2 million in capital investment and 182 new jobs across the state…
