WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Merchandise worth thousands of dollars has been recovered, and four people have been arrested following a state police investigation into organized retail theft in the Watertown area.
Between August 6 and 8, troopers staged a three-day enforcement detail in Watertown, Syracuse and Utica after stores in the area requested help catching shoplifters.

On August 6, police said they worked with Walmart and Target in the town of Watertown and TJ Maxx in the city of Watertown.
