Worcester board advances 209 apartments planned on old sports field

The Worcester Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday granted relief for 209 apartments at a former Worcester Academy athletic field.

The board voted 5-0 on granting a special permit and two variances for the apartment project proposed by the Connecticut-based firm, CT Realty Trust.

The project calls for the construction of 26 townhouses with a total of 150 units and a four-story building with 59 units — up from 57 previously proposed. The plans also call for the construction of 452 parking spaces…
