A new section of the Tennessee River Greenway is giving residents a scenic new way to walk, run and cycle while completing a continuous 17-mile greenway loop through south Huntsville, with much of it running along Redstone’s eastern boundary.
The City of Huntsville officially opened the 1 1/2-mile extension July 29 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Tommy Battle, according to a press release. The new segment stretches from Redstone Road to Green Cove Road, connecting the Aldridge Creek Greenway to Ditto Landing and the Tennessee River. Construction began in September 2025.
