SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – Sharp HealthCare, one of the largest hospital networks in San Diego County, announced on Tuesday they are undergoing workforce “reductions and realignment” that will impact 260 employees.
Sharp leadership said factors such as increasing labor costs, supplies and federal policy changes are what led to their decision. Many of the employees impacted by the announcement have been offered alternative employment, according to management.
“These decisions are difficult and were made only after significant consideration,” President and Chief Executive Officer Sharp HealthCare Chris Howard said in a news release. “Most importantly, they are not a reflection of the dedication, performance or contributions of the colleagues impacted.”
