SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Great New York State Fair is coming to town for another year of deep-fried delights and thrilling rides starting Aug. 27.
The fair’s press team announced several additions and expansions of fairgoer favorites to explore this year. Whether it’s live music or a unique exhibit, below is an itinerary of everything new and improved to know about before visiting the fairgrounds.

- The New York State Fair will run from Aug. 27 through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
- Hours: 9 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily; no entry or re-entry allowed past 9 p.m.
- The fairgrounds are located adjacent to Route 690 west of exit 12B (old exit 7). The fairgrounds can also be accessed from I-90 exits 39 (west) or 34A (east), and Route 81 from the north and south.
- General admission is $8.32 per person. There is no charge for children under 12 or seniors over 65.
What’s new at the New York State Fair?
America 250: In celebration of the semiquincentennial, the Fair will present an American drone show, contests at the Wegmans Creative Arts Center (formerly the Art & Home Center), and more.
State Fair Sand Sculpture: The massive creation has yet to be revealed; however, it will be available to see in the Micron Center of Progress Building starting at 10 a.m. all day, every day.
