Jamaica’s largest fast-food chain is finally coming to Massachusetts, with three locations in the pipeline across Everett, Roxbury and Brockton. Juici Patties has confirmed sites at Gateway Center in Everett, 16 Taber Street in Roxbury, and 200 Westgate Drive in Brockton, though the company has not revealed exact opening dates for any of the three.
The Everett location marks a notable real estate milestone for the shopping center itself. According to MassLive, the Roxbury spot will sit at 16 Taber Street and the Brockton site at 200 Westgate Drive, both per the Juici Patties website. Commercial real estate firm Urban Edge Properties announced in July that Juici Patties signed a lease for a 2,450-square-foot space at Gateway Center, according to Connect Commercial Real Estate, a deal that brought the shopping hub off Revere Beach Parkway — anchored by Target and Costco — to full occupancy.
The Roxbury address puts Juici Patties squarely in Nubian Square, a commercial corridor that has seen major transit-oriented and residential redevelopment in recent years. The 16 Taber Street building is a newly constructed mixed-use development with ground-floor commercial space, per property listings reviewed on Zillow.
A Jamaican Institution Built From a Home Kitchen
Juici Patties traces its roots to founder Jukie Chin, who started making and selling Jamaican patties when he was just 16 years old, first out of his mother’s kitchen and later through his parents’ grocery store, per the Juici Patties website as cited by MassLive.
