Antioch man charged in multi-state identity theft operation

(KRON) — A 34-year-old Antioch man faces felony charges after being accused in a multi-state identity theft operation, authorities announced Tuesday.

The Antioch Police Department said it was tipped off to the operation after being contacted by Lear Capital, a precious metals company based in Los Angeles, on July 21. The employee noticed suspicious transactions that they believed were fraudulent, according to authorities.

Antioch PD Detective Ryan Duff “connected the activity to victims in multiple states with combined losses of nearly $30,000,” wrote police. The suspect in the case was identified as Terrence Langston, 34, of Antioch.

A search warrant at an Antioch residence uncovered check-printing equipment, card readers, personal identifying information belonging to multiple people and $9,000 in gold, according to authorities. Two firearms were also seized in the search…
