DENVER (KDVR) — A paraprofessional who worked at a Jefferson County elementary school is facing charges after allegedly dragging a disabled student on the ground more than ten feet, according to the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Cynthia Ann Monroe, 60, worked at Ute Meadows Elementary School in Ken Caryl from 2014 until the incident happened on April 16, 2026. The district attorney’s office said Monroe was fired after the incident.

Deputies responded to the school the day of the incident after staff reported seeing Monroe grab the student forcefully and drag them by the arm, according to the district attorney’s office.
