DENVER (KDVR) – Over four years after the death of Margaret Eberhart, a man who was on parole at the time has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
According to an 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office release, 39-year-old Ricky Lee Roybal-Smith was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to the murder,
The murder stems from June 22, 2022, when officers responded to an emergency alarm just after 3 a.m. The alarm was activated by a Lyft driver, who stopped near the Englewood Civic Center to allow his passenger, later identified as Eberhart, to use a porta-potty.
