David Foster is putting an end to the swirling rumors claiming he snubbed Meghan Markle during his recent charity event. The acclaimed musician and philanthropist clarified the situation following a viral video that suggested an awkward moment between him and the Duchess of Sussex.
Speaking to People magazine on August 12, Foster, 76, explained, “As the host of the David Foster and Friends foundation event, I had already greeted our friends, the Duke and Duchess, at the entrance 10 minutes before the red carpet encounter. They both, graciously and selflessly, gave their time and went beyond to engage with everyone.
Harry and Meghan are dear friends of mine. Anyone watching can see there was no awkward moment and certainly no snub.”
The video in question showed Foster apparently walking past Meghan and Prince Harry on the red carpet without acknowledging them, which sparked considerable social media debate. Foster emphasized that the clip was misleading, stating, “It’s sad that certain media chose to deceive a red carpet encounter for clickbait. They turned simple ‘positioning’ to get the best photo into a hurtful lie.”
